About

“The audience comes to the theatre to be emotionally moved. They want to laugh, cry, be frightened, be taken out of themselves and, if only for a moment, to be levitated.”

I’m a passionate theatre director whose work has played across the UK and many international territories. My work covers a diverse range of projects from commercial musical theatre productions to contemporary new writing.

What I love about theatre is its ability to transcend the ordinary. In a dark room, with nothing but bodies, light, sound and imagination, something impossible can suddenly become true. As a director, I’m obsessed with chasing those moments where the craft disappears and something larger takes over: where theatre stops feeling staged and starts feeling like an event, a communion, a kind of beautiful possession.

Most recently, I directed a “hilarious, powerful & truly important” new one woman play called Rolling In It by Laura Kay Bailey at The Kings Head Theatre, London.

I’m currently working on Winghaven a new musical written by Lisa Peretti, Pretty Woman The Musical (UK & Ireland Tour) & The Devil Wears Prada A New Musical. I have worked on numerous major musical productions including Kinky Boots (London & UK Tour), Hairspray (London Coliseum) & Beautiful The Carole King Musical (Aldwych Theatre).
